Reiser and Vemag have designed a variety of Meatball Forming systems for all production requirements. The systems combine a Vemag Stuffer with one of Vemag’s Ball Control (BC) units. The BC units are available in 2-, 6-, and 12-outlet designs depending on production needs. These Ball Forming systems are ideal for producing meatballs, fish balls and croquettes, as well as filled products such as meatballs filled with cheese or barbeque sauce. Round, oval and stick-shaped products can all be produced with the same equipment.

Vemag Stuffer
At the heart of the system lies the Vemag Portioner. The Vemag features a powerful positive displacement double-screw pump that provides the highest levels of portioning accuracy. The double-screw transports product extremely gently and without smearing. The Vemag is available in various models and hopper capacities to meet any production requirement. A Vemag inline grinder can be added to perform a final cut just before forming, providing a more consistent product appearance, less smear, better particle definition and a better mouth texture.

Vemag Ball Control Units
The Vemag Ball Control units accurately shape and portion all types of ball-shaped products. They consistently produce exact-weight portions, ranging from 1/8-oz. up to 4-oz. and more. Product diameters range from approximately 0.375" to 2.375". Changeovers from one product diameter to another are quick and easy. An integrated cutting plate features an overlap blade action to ensure the meatballs are completely separated from one another, eliminating any “necklace” effect. A water spraying system for the blades and product eliminate sticking. Two units are available: the BC 236, and BC 237.

Vemag BC 237
The 2-outlet Vemag BC 237 meatball former produces up to 500 portions/minute and is ideal for the production of all types of unfilled product.

Vemag BC 236
The Vemag BC 236 meatball former is available in 6-outlet and 12-outlet configurations. The BC236 / 6-outlet unit produces up to 1,500 unfilled portions/minute. The BC 236 / 12-outlet unit produces up to 3,000 unfilled portions/minute. These units are ideal for applications with the highest production requirements and can process both unfilled and filled (coextruded) products.
